Another look at the trunk floors. We drill 3/16" holes in the new trunk floor along the frame rails and the trunk braces following the factory original spot welds. Then we plug weld through those holes to the original rails. The result is a much stronger weld than the original spot welds. After grinding and filling, there will be no evidence of welds on the nice new trunk floor.

To reproduce the look of the factory spot welds, we use a pencil eraser and twirl it in the wet primer. The resulting round mark looks almost identical to the slight indentation left by the factory spot weld equipment.
