When the front frame rail kinks (from the infamous "early '70s accident") where repaired we had to use some heat to get the rails straight. Anytime you add heat to a frame rail, the frame rail is potentially weakened. To avoid any future issues with rebending, we added some strength back to the frame rail with internal braces.

The braces where made from 1/8" U channel mild steel and mig welded inside the frame rail channel before the new floor was installed. All the factory holes inthe frame rail where also transferred to the braces, so they will be undetectable from the outside once the floors are installed.
