May 20 2004 - Here are the original sheetmetal doors. They have had a lot of bondo removed, the bottoms patched with metal and many dents knocked out. A skim coat of plastic was layed down and they where final rough sanded. Now primed, they are ready for finish blocking and sanding.
Although I am using fiberglass fenders on the car, I decided to stay with the metal doors. I like the look of the original Glass windows and chrome frames. Plus, I intend to add the new electric window kit to the front doors. The new electric regulators weigh less than the original mechanical regulators and this will let me roll down both windows in the staging lanes during those hot Raleigh, NC race days and nites!
